Name: Ran Kami

Species
She is a manifestation of a young girl of age ten. In truth she died long ago and is sometimes convicted as a demon by those who are sensitive to the present of spirits.

Appearance
She always had a smile for everyone. Her face was cheery and cute. Her short wavy, silky hair was a dark cherry charcoal, when the sun caught it just right her hair shined a rich burning crimson. She had dazzling almond eyes that were a musty azure with swirls of magenta.

She had an athletic build and was of average height and weight. She had tiny elegant hands, and small narrow feet. Her skin was fair and smooth and burnt easily.

Her normal attire included hot pink jeans with a loose fit, and cut for boots. Her cowboy leather boots had a silver black platted design zigzagged except on the tip of the boot which was plain black ending in a diamond shape climbing up the roof of her feet. She wore a button-up collared red shirt with a white stitched design. The design was a pair of parallel wavy lines climbing up from the bottom of her shirt where it was tucked into her jeans to the top of her shoulders and back down again to the bottom on the back of her shirt. Her clothes always possessed a fresh off the iron press look. She carried a brown leather backpack swung over her right shoulder.

Personality
Ran was a restless girl full of energy. She loved nature and running in the open fields. She was full of laughter and was always willing to play with others. She was hardly ever serious. She was open and willing to get to know anyone she met. She always made friends and loved to play with them. Most of her friends were boys since she was a serious tomboy and could do sports just as well. In sports she was an offensive player and good at it, she was bad as a defensive player. Flower blossoms were one of her favorite things to view. She loathed anyone that would harm others, in fact she would get in fights because of it. She would always listen to others and do as she was told and served any punishment she received faithfully. She wasn’t patient and quick to anger, but she had learned to wait. She was fanatically religious and prayed to her god always. She feared losing her loved ones, the precious things in life. She feared being rejected by others if her true form was found out.

Weapons
Wakizashi: The wakizashi is a slightly curved blade eighteen inches (47 cm) in length, with the being base two-thirds of an inch (17mm) wide while the tip of the blade where it started its own curve is one-third of an inch (9mm.) It has a ko-kissaki, the tip part of the blade, that rounds off in an arc toward the mune. This kissaki is very small compared to the base of the blade about half. The koshizori, the curved edge of the blade, is emphatic and beautifully forged. The hamon, the borderline of the areas between the very hardened area and the not so hardened area of the blade, was forged in a madareba style, or irregular pattern, it was formed with a wavy effect, however it is difficult to see and requires special visual aid. The ha, the cutting edge, has a razor edge and cuts through steel as if it was butter. The mune, the back ridge of the blade, is hard and virtually indestructible. It’s slightly curved in a backwards-arc up to the kissaki, the tip of the blade. The Mei, the sword smith's signature, is a slashed line with the tip crossed at an acute angle on the nakago, the foot base of the blade. The hilt of the sword covered the Mei from view. It was wrapped around the base to provide a good grip. It had a silver and white laced crisscrossed pattern. It has no hilt guard. It was forged to be a beautiful work of art designed for killing.

Abilities
Ran is an object: She does not need to sleep, eat, or breathe. She cannot be poisoned, paralyzed, stunned, diseased, or killed. She cannot suffer from exhaustion, fatigue or any other medical symptoms. She can be destroyed or worn down with damage. Ran has no vital organs.

Spirit woven: Ran’s spirit is woven into the blade.

Ran’s Spirit: As a spirit she does not need to sleep, eat, or breathe. She cannot be poisoned, paralyzed, stunned, diseased, or killed. She does not suffer from exhaustion, fatigue, or any other medica symptoms. She can be exorcized, destroyed, or resurrected to who she was when living. A spirit has no vital organs. Resurrection does not effect her if she is unwilling. Exorcism is a test of wills. Ran’s will is strong indeed, as the spirit of her wielders have increased over time.

Kami Blessed: Ran is virtually indestructible as a blade. She has the ability to learn and become more powerful over time.

Lighting Charged: Ran has the raw element of electricity, lighting, at her call to use at will.

Electricity Manipulation: Ran is capable of controlling and changing the property of electricity she comes in contact with, either through a conductor or over small short distances.

Metal Manipulation: Ran is capable of changing the form of metal. She is capable of changing the elemental state it is in. She can control the temperature of metal. She can change the properties and characteristic of metals to act like other metals. She must first come in contact with the metal to do this.

Combination Ability: She is capable of using all the stated above powers together in any combination.

Examples of abilities and powers she can create with the combination:

Humanoid Android Form: With the study of creating androids and the working knowledge of how they would work, she has created her living form once more in human likeness. She must have time to create this form because of its intricate design and operation. The android is perfectly modeled after a human girl of her age. It’s soft, it bleeds red when the outer metal tissue is torn. It mimics normal healing over time. It’s ten times as strong as a normal human, and five times as fast. It carries no other special weapons. The metal on the outside that represents the skin is in a liquid form with a slight malt over it, non-toxic to humans. This metal can extend into solid objects. Since she can not create metal she must have enough materials to create the android.

Other ability combinations: There are many other things she is capable of doing. I can add in several other examples of powers combined ability, but not all of them.

Knowledge and skills: She posses several different types of knowledge, especially in technologies and sciences. She is highly skilled in several different styles of marital arts, if not masters of them. She is highly skilled at sports. Other subjects she struggles in, since they aren’t normally that interesting to her.

Background
As a young girl she grew up on the road with her father, which resulted in most of her education being about survival. Her mother had died while she was still very young. It was shortly after her little sister Ren was born, and she was only two years older. She had few memories of her mother and never really knew the woman. She did learn later when she was older, that her mother had a couple of brothers. Sadly her father had no family but them, he was also known as a ronin.

Once her father had been a samurai proudly serving his Lord and clan, however love changed that forever. He had fallen in love with a woman from a foreign country. She had deep dark cherry hair and dazzling green eyes. Her father had told them that she was his sun in the sky. His Siege Lord would however not allow him to marry a foreign woman, he said his lord claimed they were children of the Oni they fought in the Shadow Lands and he would have no samurai of his fall tainted to such creatures. He told them, if their mother was born of any unearthly being it would have been that of a Kami, one of the legendary dragon gods. Most of what Ran knew of her mother had been told by her father, and never her brother. Her brother did not like speaking of their mother. Ran had never learned why this was, perhaps some grudge or something else, she had thought. However when anyone ever spoke of their mother in a negative way, her brother would be the first to jump to their mother’s defense. In the end Ran didn’t know what to think.

When Ran was ten years after their mother’s death, their father was on the road yet again. He was always in search of something, but she hadn’t known what until today. He had decided to share it with her. He also warned her to be careful for they were going to travel on the border of the Shadow Lands. He had learned of a rat mage who lived on its border who could most likely put him in contact with their mother’s brother. For the last several years on the road he had sought a way of contacting their mother’s family so he could inform them of her death. He told them once he had done this, they would find a home and she’d be able to make friends as well as her sister Ren. All of their spirits were up as they traveled the shadowed roads near the border of the dark and barren land. The rats though had little choice in the matter, as the land of Rokugani rejected their kind and they were forced to live on th borders or in the Shadow Lands themselves.

The Hut of the rat mage soon came into view, and he bade his family to wait outside. He walked in alone. Unfortunately for him, Ren wanted to run around and play since they had finally come to a rest. Ran obliged and played with her. Her older brother, as dutiful as ever, kept a sharp eye on them. They had not actually ventured that far from the hut when an Oni smelled their flesh. An Oni is a demon who seeks out the flesh and spirits of mortal beings to either corrupt or feast on. This Oni was not a powerful one, and only sought to feed itself, and its scent picked up sweet innocent flesh and pure spirits. It had not feasted on such in a long time, so it wandered out of the Shadow Lands to hunt it. Ren when she saw the grotesque beast immediately froze in fear, and had immediately become deeply ashamed of her weakness. Her sister Ran seeing it immediately charged the Oni throwing rocks and sticks at it. It ignored these pathetic attempts of assault. Kiban the girls’ brother drew his blade, that his father was teaching him to use, and charged the demon to save his sisters. The demon wasn’t taken by surprise though, and grabbed the blade with its claws and cried in pain as it bit into its flesh. He immediately slashed Kiban open with his other claw as Kiban was trying to wrestle his blade from the Oni’s grip. Kiban, mutilated from the attack, had fallen lifeless to the ground staining it in a pool of scarlet. The demon released the blade and had let it dropped to the ground forgotten.

Ran temporarily forgotten as the Oni closed in on the frightened child grabbed the discarded blade, it was heavy so she gripped it with both hands and held it before as if it was a spear. She charged it with all her might. The demon already dismissing Ran as a true threat had not even been prepared for the attack and was skewed virtually in half. The demon swung out its fist in retaliation to the deadly wound that had just been inflicted on it. The monster managed to hit Ran, with a backhand across her chest. The bones inside her small chest couldn’t handle the impact of it and immediately caved in splintering her internal organs killing her instantly. Blood had sprayed from her mouth. The creature knew she was dead when she hit the ground but was determined to make the act of bravery pointless in the end, and with it last strength it skewed the frozen little girl and died.

Inside the hut the rat mage agreed to contact the brothers for a fee, the samurai paid it willingly as he felt he owed it to them. True he had never met them, and they probably didn’t even know their sister had even married. However he felt they should know of her death and of their nephew and nieces. It would be good for his children to be around with family as well. The mage informed him it would take sometime to locate them, and cautioned him that they would enter in a different domain that would allow them to communicate over great distances. The father never heard the ghastly and horrible death of his children outside.

The mage true to his word brought him in contact with one of her brothers. The middle-aged man had a tangled thick red beard. He was dressed in animal skins with a cloak of green leaves resting around his shoulders. His eyes were a piercing blue. He had begun to bold over the years and had little of his wild curly hair on top but it flowed like a crown on his sides, with some white strands here wiggling out of the unkempt mess. In a deep rich voice he spoke to the samurai.

“Whom are you to seek me out in my forest home? Have I not made it clear to all that I wish to be left alone?” The man seemed upset, and rightly so, the samurai had not meant to intrude on another’s home, even if it was in a forest, still what he needed to tell this man was of great importance.

“Forgive me, but I’ve grave news to share with you, your sister Diane is dead, in fact she’s been dead for these last seven years.” He told the nature man. The man’s eyes seemed to have changed almost watering over and his tone of voice became one of friendliness.

“Tell me stranger, how would you know this, and why would you tell me just now of this?” The man asked the samurai. The samurai chose to answer his last question first.

“I am in a land far away in which wizardry is banned. I had sought out long and hard to find one capable of casting such a spell is this, ever since her death. I married her more than eighteen years ago, and we have had three wonderful children.” The man seemed to be taken aback with this latest news, before he continued.

“She had children and she married you, well that explains a few things, tell me where I can find this land you are in? I wish to go there, and travel, from my home, just this once, so I may meet the future of our family.” The samurai had hoped the brothers would come with their own families, but the way he had said it made him believed the brothers had no children of their own, so he addressed that first.

“Wait, what do you mean by future of your family?” He asked the forest man.

“Simply put, I and my brother are the only family of my sister’s and we have never been married or had any children of our own.” The forest man replied. The samurai nodded and told him of the land he was in.

“I am in the land called Rokugani, it’s an island of a sorts I believe to the east of your country.” The man immediately nodded and put up his hand to have the samurai stop and so the warrior did.

“I know not of this land, and would be difficult to locate it off such a sketchy description. Please ask your mage to send me a link to where you are currently located. Within an hour I should be able to create a magic pocket that will allow me to travel there instantly.” The samurai was astounded by this power and ability and informed the mage of the request, the mage nodded and asked for another fee, the samurai willing paid it once more. At this point the communication link was broken and the rat asked the samurai to wait outside for his friend.

The samurai stepped out only to discover the horror that had taken place outside displayed before him, only but fifty meters from the hut. He had immediately drawn his blade to finish off the fowled Oni only to discover it was quite dead. He then gathered his precious children together and cried. The red-bearded man discovered the samurai this way when he had teleported in. His grief was great, because now not only had he discovered his sister to be dead, but her children laid lifeless before him as well. The samurai had noticed the man’s approached and turned up from where he knelt to look at the man. Tears had glossed his eyes and in a hoarse voice he spoke to the uncle of these children.

“I have failed your family, this cannot be forgiven, and I will take my life to please you.” The samurai took out his wakizashi to do just that, but the man stopped him by grabbing his hand and shouting at him.

“No! Don’t do any such thing, for there is still a chance that our family future can be secured. Not by me, I am only a Druid and my powers are limited. However I won’t lie down and accept this atrocity, not with my sister’s death so new to me. It will require me to do the one thing I vowed to myself I never would do, but given the circumstances, I see no other choice. However I am not even sure it will help. I will contact my brother.” The samurai looked in wonder at him, and thought, now why would that be something he’d vow not to do?

As it turned out his brother was an extremely powerful wizard, who had used this power to suppress others. However these events had wakened him from his loneliness and desire to control and manipulate. In fact later the samurai and druid learned that the mage had become wicked in the thought of losing his sister twenty years before. It was if he was blaming the world for taking her away from him. When he finally found her, he only learned of her death, and the death of her children. The mage spilled his entire wealth and power along with his brother to preserve their souls. Unfortunately he couldn’t bring them back to life, but he was able to weave their souls into weapons that he forged, with the help of the samurai and his brother. From that point forth, for their sister’s sake and the children’s they pledged their services to the samurai.

This powerful trio built a clan, which within their lifetime became a great clan. In these mens grief and rage against the Oni who had taken their precious children away, they had taken their clan and trained them to be haters and killers of the demons and trained them in such away that they were all fiercely dedicated and became quite deadly. They were all demon hunters and they were consumed by this. They robbed the Shadow Land of most of its beast in such a force that it was forced to regress and retreat. This opened more land up for Rokugani. The Kamis, the dragon gods, blessed the newly raised clan by giving the greatest gift. They made the blades, Kiban, Ran, and Ren divine in power. Now their voices could be heard, it was almost as if they were living again. The three blades became the divine symbol of their family and represented their great clan status. They watched over the future generations of the three men. As the leaders of the new clan, they had all remarried to provide heirs for the future generations.

Eventually Rokugani vanished from the world as the ages passed with their gods. Kiban, the Katana of the three blades had vanished with the land. Ran and Ren had made their way out of Rokugani with their current wielder. What happened to Rokugani is largely unknown. Popular belief though theorized that the descendants or at least some of their ways survived through the religion of Shintoism.

Today, Ran required no wielder for she had grown powerful enough to have created her own human form. Last known she was seeking out her sister, as her sister’s whereabouts was unknown to her.

Oh, simple.

Excessive FORCE.

Complete dismantlement. Obliteration. Apocolypse in a CAN.

Or simply seal/drain the power of the spirit inside. Souls can be very... defenceless.

Well in order to destroy Ran you must destroy the blade. I said nearly indestructable. You could probably seal Ran into the weapon, sealing the weapons powers too. Then she'd just be a Wakizashi, one that always stays sharp and pratically indestructable. Naturally she would be difficult to destroy. She was wrought into a weapon by gods, and thus an artifact. It means the same gods can destroy her by unmaking her. I suppose a ritual and powerful enough Sorcery over a few weeks, perhaps even years by non-gods, could destroy the weapon. Sealing her or making her weaker would be easier to accomplish at first, perhaps even possible to do so in a battle. She can't die, because she isn't alive. Her spirit is part of the sword and sealed woven within it. In order to harm her spirit one must undo the weave or destroy the blade.

I guess...It's just, ordinary characters would never be able to even harm her...

Ah, well, I'll accept it cause I know you wouldn't RP with it in a god-modly way.

Oh yes this is a bump, I'm tired of going to page 2 just to look at my character. I'll add another Bio so its not just a bump post. But in a couple of weeks. Ren, and Seiei and a couple others at least. Not all at once obviously, but they'll come.
